Butler says last week's metals smashdown was just a paper affair
12:01p ET Saturday, January 23, 2010
Dear Friend of GATA and Gold (and Silver):
In his weekly interview with Eric King of King World News, silver market analyst Ted Butler remarks that last week's smashdown in the precious metals seems to have been an entirely paper affair, without indications of substantial change in metals possession. Butler also speculates that the big silver short, JPMorganChase & Co., may have tried to engineer the decline in anticipation of new U.S. government restrictions on investment bank trading.
