GATA artist Alain Despert gains worldwide recognition
6p ET Sunday, July 19, 2009
Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
The colorful painting symbolizing our cause, titled "GATA" and appearing on our Internet site's home page and at the top of every GATA Dispatch, shows a Don Quixote-like character riding a horse, carrying a pennant and a shield, and leading the masses toward the U.S. Treasury Department building in Washington, D.C., as sunbeams chase the darkness away. The man on the horse may be GATA Chairman Bill Murphy. Your secretary/treasurer is the first guy behind the horse, who is carrying a dustpan and broom, which are not shown.
Also not shown is the brilliant artist responsible for the painting, Alain Despert. But now there is a promotional video about Despert that has been posted at YouTube, and it establishes how he has become internationally recognized in recent years. You can watch it here:

Despert's own Internet site is here:
Among the samples of his work, Despert lists "GATA" here:

We're deeply grateful to Despert for the flash and style he has brought to our cause and congratulate him on his ever more beautiful and dramatic work.
