Ted Butler: Showdown time?

In his new commentary, silver market analyst Ted Butler is crystal clear on what's wrong in the gold and silver markets. It's not that dealers are selling to speculators, Butler writes, nor that the dealers don't really have the goods they have sold short. These circumstances, he acknowledges, apply in other markets. No, the offense is that the short positions in gold and silver are exceedingly and uniquely concentrated, held in just a few hands, so that collusion and manipulation can defeat a free market. This is the huge failure of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
