Embry interview, Gold-Eagle indicator says ''buy,'' ''strong dollar'' says ''bye''

GATA consultant Reg Howe's latest study, quot;Long Con: Mother

the most comprehensive documentation yet of unacknowledged
central bank intervention to suppress the gold price.

quot;Unacknowledgedquot; may have become a better adjective than
the one we long have used, quot;surreptitious,quot; since, thanks to
GATA's consultants, the intervention is now so much a matter
of public record.

Among other things, Howe's new study discloses that the
issuance of gold derivative instruments is exploding even as
mining companies hasten the closing of their hedges. That
is, the central banks are madly throwing both metal and
paper at the gold market in what has become a failing
effort to keep the price down as the U.S. dollar collapses.

The big conclusion to be drawn here is that the banks no
longer have the gold they would like the world to think they
have, and that what Howe calls their quot;long conquot; is coming
to an end in a run on gold.

GATA's work increasingly will be to encourage gold's
partisans and investors generally to take physical
possession of gold, rather than invest in mining companies,
and thereby do what they can to hasten the end of the
long con instead of wait passively for it.
