PARIS -- The International Monetary Fund's future managing director says central bankers do not appear to oppose sales of IMF gold.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the Frenchman chosen last week to succeed Rodrigo Rato as IMF chief a month from now, told French daily Le Monde in an interview: "Most of the central bankers I consulted are not hostile to the idea. But such a reform requires broad consensus."

One of the challenges Strauss-Kahn faces is finding new ways of financing the Washington-based public lender.
