TORONTO -- Apogee Minerals Ltd. (TSX Venture Exchange: APE) reports
that the vice president of the Republic of Bolivia, Alvaro Garcia
Linera, has issued a statement confirming that the government has no
intention of nationalizing any mining project and that private
investmentwill be guaranteed in the mining sector.
The statement was delivered in a radio address and reported in the
El Diario newspaper (www.eldiario.net [2]).
Additionally, the minister of the presidency, Juan Ramon Quintana,
stated today that while the mining code is likely to be modified,
the government will encourage the investment of foreign capital and
completely support private initiatives that comply with national
laws.
Apogee Minerals Ltd. is a Canadian exploration and development
company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol APE. The
company is focused on advanced silver-zinc projects in South America
that demonstrate the potential to receive capital investment and be
rapidly developed to production. Currently all of its projects are
located in the historic silver producing regions of central and
