Mexican congressmen are going to Sao Paolo, Brazil, for a meeting of
the Latin American Parliament beginning Nov. 24.
Among the congressmen in the delegation is a group from the three
main political parties in Mexico who, though totally at odds on
other matters, will make a presentation about re-establishing silver
as a currency and thus helping unite the economies and politics of
the region.
One congressman will present the history of silver and why it went
out of circulation.
Another congressman will show how silver can be reintroduced into
circulation permanently -- through a coin with no nominal face
value, whose daily value will be quoted in a similar fashion (with
similar seigniorage) by participating central banks in each
country's local currency, with the provision that no quote ever can
be reduced.
The third congressman will present the social, economic, and
political advantages of placing such a coin into circulation.
After the dismal failure by the United States at the recent
conference in Buenos Aires, this new and imaginative proposal may
well receive close attention and -- who knows? -- spark interest in
the Mexican plan throughout Latin America for reintroduction of a
silver currency. After all, Latin America desperately needs new and
inspiring ideas to replace the outworn dollar-dependency song.
So let's hope that these courageous Mexican congressmen are
successful in transmitting the message of real money as a "liquid

Silver would be a financial cushion with a built-in capacity to
respond to inflation AND the potential to rise in value as silver's
commodity price rises.
So Mexico's silver message is going international.
