India's February gold imports surge on pent-up demand, GFMS says

MUMBAI, India -- India's February gold imports surged to 50 tonnes, up more than 82 percent from a year ago, on pent-up jeweller demand and as retail consumers ramped up purchases for weddings, provisional data from consultancy GFMS showed on Wednesday.

Intricate jewellery found buried in a Staffordshire field is the earliest example of Iron Age gold ever found in Britain.
The collection, made up of four twisted metal neckbands, called torcs, and a bracelet, was discovered by two metal detectorists just before Christmas.

Shorts digging in against silver, Turk tells KWN

Revenue is down sharply, jobs have been chopped, morale is in the tank, and formerly successful lines of business are being shut down -- even as the mint spends millions of dollars on new executive offices.
