With so many people on vacation, August is the easiest month for manipulating markets, Sprott Asset Management's John Embry tells King World News today, adding that it's true of gold despite the enormous offtake of real metal. But interest-rate derivatives continue to threaten the world financial system, Embry adds, and any reduction in bond buying by the Federal Reserve would spike interest rates, exploding those derivatives and, with them, some major banks.
