Franco Nevada chairman Lassonde interviewed by King World News
12:17p CET Saturday, November 7, 2009
Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
Pierre Lassonde, chairman of Franco Nevada Corp. and a pillar of the gold mining industry for three decades, was interviewed for about 40 minutes Friday by Eric King of King World News and explained gold's conversion from jewelry back to a financial instrument -- money. Most central banks, Lassonde added, are devaluing their currencies against gold, and the gold price and the Dow Jones Industrial Average will reach parity before the current gold cycle is over. He said that gold shares are undervalued because the market doesn't believe that gold will stay above $1,000 per ounce. "The explosive phase of the gold market," Lassonde said, "is not here yet." Lassonde also expects higher oil prices.
