Russia Today interviews Max Keiser on oil trade's dollar dump
7:20p ET Wednesday, October 7, 2009
Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
Interviewed Tuesday by the Russia Today television network, international journalist and provocateur Max Keiser reported that he is hearing from his sources in Paris and the Middle East that there is substance to this week's story by Robert Fisk in The Independent about worldwide collaboration to replace the U.S. dollar as the medium of exchange for oil trading. Keiser adds that gold is to have a much larger role in the basket of currencies likely to be created to replace the dollar. He adds that motivating the scheme is resentment that the dollar's place as reserve currency requires other countries to finance U.S. wars and occupations.
