GATA distributes international press release on Russia Today interview
6:55p ET Thursday, March 12, 2009
Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
GATA this evening distributed via the Business Wire service an international press release publicizing the Russia Today television network's interview with our board member, Adrian Douglas, about the Western central bank gold price suppression scheme. The release is appended.
We at GATA are proud of Douglas' work and thrilled with his success in bringing GATA's message to a much wider audience. We're also deeply grateful to Russia Today and its reporter, Marina Portnaya, for their attention to our issue.
This is another opportunity to remind our supporters and potential supporters that GATA is always trying to do something to liberate the precious metals markets particularly and the currency, equity, and bond markets generally and that we regularly produce some important results while operating on a budget that is less than an immeasurable fraction of the budget of the World Gold Council, which seems to exist largely to make sure that there never is is a world gold council.
If you have not already supported GATA, please watch Russia Today's interview with Douglas and consider whether we might deserve your help. Odds are that with more financial support we'll strike more blows against the manipulators, deceivers, and thieves who run the world financial system.

If you already have supported GATA, please just sit back and enjoy Russia Today's interview with Douglas and accept our thanks for helping to change the world.

RUSSIAN TELEVISION NETWORK BROADCASTS
INTERVIEW ON GOLD PRICE SUPPRESSION

MANCHESTER, Conn. -- International television network Russia Today (www.RussiaToday.com) this week broadcast an 11-minute interview with Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee board member Adrian Douglas about the suppression of the gold price by Western central banks.
Douglas, editor of the Market Force Analysis letter (www.MarketForceAnalysis.com) and an international oil market consultant, was interviewed by Russia Today reporter Marina Portnaya.
The gold price suppression scheme, Douglas said, was undertaken to support the U.S. dollar and keep dollar interest rates low. The scheme uses gold sales and leasing by central banks and derivatives underwritten by them to reduce the market value of what otherwise would be an independent, supra-national currency competing with all government currencies.
Douglas credited the former deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia, Oleg Moshaiskov, as being among the first officials to speak publicly about the gold price suppression scheme. Moshaiskov cited GATA in a speech to a meeting of the London Bullion Market Association in Moscow in 2004.
Douglas states that the suppression of the gold price is now unsustainable because central banks have depleted their gold reserves when demand from the public is surging. He estimates the breaking point of the scheme is close at hand and that the gold price will "skyrocket."
Russia Today's programming is broadcast in English 24 hours a day in more than a hundred countries. Its interview with Douglas can be both viewed and read in transcript form at the Russia Today site on the Internet here:
