Send Ted Butler's latest to Congress and CFTC

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold (and Silver):

Market analyst Ted Butler has examined the latest reports from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and has determined that the concentration of the short position in gold on the New York Commodity Exchange has reached another record high and that the concentration of the short position in silver is not far behind. This, Butler notes, is proof of market manipulation, and it almost certainly would be acted upon by the CFTC in any markets other than gold and silver, where central banks and their investment house agents have an interest in exercising surreptitious currency intervention.

GATA urges U.S. citizens who have not already written to the CFTC and their U.S. senators and representatives about the manipulation of the gold and silver markets to do so now. Please make the contacts by U.S. mail, since high government officials seldom can pay any attention to unsolicited e-mail. Print a copy of Butler's new commentary and enclose it with a covering letter asking the members of Congress and the CFTC to explain to you why the market concentration Butler writes about is not being acted against by the CFTC or other government agencies to restore competition to the gold and silver markets.
