Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

The email message that appears below was
received today by the Gold Anti-Trust Action
Committee. It comes from a member of the
staff of U.S. Rep. Jim Ryun, R-Kansas, one
of the world's great sport heroes, the first
American to break the 4-minute mile.

We are delighted that both Ryun and many of
his constituents would like to find out the truth
about what is going on in the gold market.

We'll be replying to this inquiry.

BILL MURPHY, Chairman
Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee Inc.

Mr. Murphy and Mr. Powell:

My name is Marcus L. Helms Jr. and I work for
Congressman Jim Ryun, R-Kansas. Congressman
Ryun sends his warmest greetings.

Recently I was forwarded a memo entitled
quot; What Are You Doing With America's Gold?quot; It
is my understanding that your committee was the
source of this.

Many constituents are concerned about this topic
and demand answers. I am following up on the
letter and would like to ask a few questions so that
I might better answer them.

Do you base your entire thesis of quot; What Are You
Doing With America's Gold?quot; upon the statement
made by Chairman Greenspan before the House
Banking Committee and the Senate Agricultural
Committee?

Have you found any conclusive facts to support
this theory?

Is this theory based upon rumors, or actual
findings?

If your committee has tangible evidence, please
inform me. I appreciate your concern in this
matter, and hope you can give me a better
understanding of the relationship between
America and gold.

Thank you for your time.

Marcus L. Helms Jr.
Congressman Jim Ryun's Staff
