Vegas conference features debate on gold price suppression
1:15a ET Wednesday, July 9, 2008
Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
Resource Investor's Hard Assets Investment Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, to be held Tuesday and Wednesday, September 9 and 10, will feature something for which GATA has been practically begging for years -- a debate over whether financial institutions are colluding to suppress the price of gold.
Arguing the question in the affirmative will be GATA Chairman Bill Murphy. Arguing in the negative will be Resource Investor's Tim Wood, who may deserve a medal for being the first on the gold conference circuit to accept this sort of challenge.
Also speaking at the conference will be GATA favorites Al Korelin of the Korelin Economics Report and Jay Taylor, editor of J. Taylor's Gold and Technology
Stocks newsletter. Dozens of resource companies will be exhibiting as well.
The conference will be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Admission is free with advance registration, and conference registrants will be eligible for a discount rate on rooms at the hotel.
