Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

The spring dinner meeting of the Committee for Monetary Research and Education, scheduled for Thursday, May 10, in New York City, will have a theme of great interest to our crowd: "Infinite Money and Its Consequences." Among the speakers:

-- Henry C.K. Liu, economics writer for Asia Times and monetary policy adviser to several governments.

-- Forrest Capie, official historian of the Bank of England.

-- James Turk, founder of GoldMoney.com, editor of the Freemarket Gold & Money Report, and consultant to GATA.

-- Leonard Liggio, executive vice president of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation and a professor at George Mason University law School.

-- Adrian Day, editor of the Global Analyst letter and manager of Adrian Day Asset Management.

-- Michael T. Darda, chief economist for MKM Partners and a contributor to The Wall Street Journal and National Review.

-- And your secretary/treasurer.

The meeting will be moderated by CMRE board member Howard Segermark, whose Washington firm handles government relations.

Details are still being worked out but the meeting will be held in the late afternoon and evening at the beautiful Union League Club, 38 East 37th St., just a few blocks south of Grand Central Station, and will include the club's usual great dinner. Tickets have been in the range of $160.

For more information, e-mail CMRE's president, Elizabeth Currier, at cmre@bellsouth.net.
