Koos Jansen: Amazingly heavy withdrawals from Shanghai Gold Exchange

China's gold demand as measured by withdrawals from the Shanghai Gold Exchange for the week ending January 16 were "amazing" at 70 metric tonnes, Bullion Star market analyst and GATA consultant Koos Jansen writes today. He adds that it was unusual for China to do so much buying as the gold price was rising.
